Dear MSCC Members: 

 

We will have a chapter meeting on Saturday, December 12, at 10 a.m. The
chapter board has elected to start using the Zoom platform for our meetings
going forward. Please see the meeting details below. Instructions on using
Zoom are in this email as well. 

 

I suggest if you wish to dial in using your landline or cellphone to start
with the New York phone number (area code 646). This should have the best
audio quality. If you are unable to get through using that phone number,
please choose another. 

 

You may access Zoom in several different ways. You do not need to have a
Zoom account in order to use the platform. Here are some tips below: 

 

Dialing in: You can access the meeting by dialing one of the phone numbers
below. The procedure is the same as using our previous meeting information.
If you are using your cellphone and can access email, clicking on the
one-touch mobile number will automatically dial the phone number and meeting
ID. Again, you do not need a Zoom account to use this method. 

 

Computer or App: You can access Zoom using your computer or mobile device.
If you click on the meeting hyperlink, Zoom will download to your computer
or mobile device. You do not have to sign up for a Zoom account to do this.
Once in the Zoom program, you will be prompted to select an audio type.
Please choose "internet audio" or "computer audio". If you do not, then we
will not be able to hear you when you speak. 

 

Video: If you choose to use your computer or mobile device to access the
meeting, please note the video function is defaulted to off. This is the
default I have chosen, because having video turned on will cause your audio
and video connectivity to be poor, unless you have a large amount of
internet bandwidth. I ask that you leave your video off. 

 

Background Noise: In an effort to control some of the background noise on
our meetings, I will begin to mute those who have background noise and do
not mute themselves. As the host, I can see the list of participants and
have complete control over the meeting. 

 

I hope to see all of you on the call on Saturday! There is no real agenda,
but there are a couple of things I'd like to go over with everyone. One of
those items will be Zoom itself. Please let me know if you have any
questions.
