Calling all shoppers!

 

As you may recall Sunrise and Shine meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month beginning at 9:00 AM. Now would be a good time for a reminder that our next meeting will happen on  December 23rd. I hope that your schedule will allow you to join us that Thursday for our last meeting of 2021, it should be a relaxing and fun time for one and all!

 

Please forgive me for the late email about our call tomorrow but it feels like December has gotten off to an incredibly busy start. Another common feeling this time of year too, is the feeling that shopping for friends and family must get done and that just the right gifts are in order. Our call tomorrow will need lots of help from each of you as we are going to talk about shopping venues and gift ideas. It would be easy to come up with a list of ordinary retailers such as Walmart, Target and Amazon, but what about places that cater specifically to blind people? There are so many options available, but they are often overlooked. Together we can explore stores like The ACB Mini Mall and the NFB Independence Market, along with numerous others. I'll need your help tomorrow morning to alert everyone in the room to outlets that they may have never heard of or haven't tried in quite a long while. Tomorrow will involve a team effort, so come prepared to talk shopping, stores and gift ideas.

 

I hope very much that you will be able to make as many of our gatherings as possible, starting with Tomorrows Zoom call.

 

 

If you haven’t been to one of our calls before, joining us at 9:00 AM for coffee or tea will give you a chance to find out what you’ve been missing. We always take time for welcoming new guest speakers and participants and for lots of warmth and laughter.

 

Most of us have become pretty familiar with attending meetings using the Zoom platform over the past year and in fact, we’ve been using Zoom since we launched Rise and Shine way back on April 16th, 2020. If you’re not used to using Zoom or if it’s still giving you difficulties, don’t give up just yet. You can access the meeting by clicking on he below listed web link, by using the one tap mobile feature or by dialing the phone number provided and entering the access code when prompted.

 

The regulars on our call are always warm and welcoming and are thrilled to see new faces.
