Subject: [NFBF-L] Sunrise and Shine with NFB-NEWSLINE - - Thursday August 11th at 9:00 AM - It's a BIG BRAILLE PARTY!

Good morning fans of Sunrise and Shine!

As I was thinking about our next Sunrise and Shine with NFB-NEWSLINE® Zoom call I realized, sometimes the best reason to have a party is, “just because”! We still might want to celebrate something a little more specific though, so why not celebrate the language of blind people , that being,, braille. No, it’s not Louis Braille’s birthday or a particularly remarkable anniversary date in connection to the invention of the language, but why let that stand in our way of a good time. Fine folks from our national NFB-NEWSLINE office will help us Share how the amazing audio information service allows subscribers the ability to access content using a host of braille displays. Our call this week is going to be loaded with new visitors, new guest speakers and an avalanche of information too. We’ll branch out from our braille related NFB-NEWSLINE topic at some point and hear from others who transcribe braille, teach braille and use braille to work, learn, relax and live a much more complete life than they would without it. Some of our extra special guests are first timers to Sunrise and Shine and in fact one of them is going to clue us in on how to get free braille calendars, (I ordered mine yesterday).

I don’t often predict how an upcoming call will go, but I’ll tell you straight up that I think our call on Thursday, August 11th is going to be one of our best ever. Whether you read braille or not, this isn’t a “Rise and Shine you want to miss. If you haven’t been to one of our calls before, joining us at 9:00 AM for coffee, tea and doughnuts will give you a chance to find out what you’ve been missing. We always take time for welcoming new guest speakers and participants and for lots of warmth and laughter.

Most of us have become pretty familiar with attending meetings using the Zoom platform over the past couple of years and in fact, we’ve been using Zoom since we launched Rise and Shine way back on April 16th 2020. If you’re not used to using Zoom or if it’s still giving you difficulties, don’t give up just yet. You can access the meeting by clicking on he below listed web link, by using the one tap mobile feature or by dialing the phone number provided and entering the access code when prompted.

The regulars on our call are always warm and welcoming and are thrilled to see new faces.

Hope to have you with us Thursday morning, see below for the Zoom info.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me before the call. Check the bottom of this email for the Zoom call-in instructions.
