Greetings MSCC Members: 

Our next chapter meeting will be held in a hybrid format on Saturday, August
13, at 10 a.m. The Zoom invitation is at the bottom of this email. The
address for the in-person component is listed following the agenda. We will
provide coffee and water for this meeting. Although I don't usually send out
the agenda, our meeting is so full of information, I thought it would be a
good idea to put the agenda out to the entire membership.

Chapter Elections: We will hold chapter elections today. This will be the
only election cycle where virtual voting, nominating or running for office
will be allowed. Nominations will be taken from the floor and you may
nominate yourself for any position, as long as you are a member current in
your dues. The following positions are up and there is a brief description
of what each office entails. 

President: Currently held by Camille Tate. This is a two year term, expiring
in August 2024. The President is the face and voice of the chapter. They
will run meetings, create meeting agendas and is the person to go to when
issues arise. The President works at the direction of the board; they keep
the chapter on NFB philosophy and brand. 

Secretary: Currently held in an interim position by Nancy Hollo. This is a
two year term, expiring in August 2024. The Secretary keeps the minutes of
each meeting and submits approved minutes to the affiliate Secretary. While
it is traditional for the Secretary to also handle all chapter
correspondence, including letters and emails, the current President handles
all of that. Meetings are recorded through Zoom so the Secretary can create
accurate minutes. 

Board Member: Board 1 is currently held by Maria Rigogliosi; Board Members 2
and 3 are vacant. Board 1 is a two year term, expiring in August 2024; Board
2 and 3 are one year terms, expiring in August 2023. Board members support
the entire board and  take part in activities as they are able.   

Note: All members of the board are expected to attend the majority of
meetings. Without a working board, the chapter will fail. Absences are fine,
just let the President know when you can't make a meeting. We also do a lot
of work through email, so hopefully you can use email, although it is not a
requirement. 

Chapter T-Shirts: We expect to receive our shirts in time for our September
meeting. Those coming in person will be able to pick up their shirts and pay
for them at that time. We will make arrangements for those who are not
coming in person. 

State Convention: Registration and banquet deadlines; room reservation
deadlines; some of the workshops; chapter paying for an additional room. 

National Convention: Wrap-up of our National Convention and where will the
convention be next year. 

Vision Fair at the Library: Who is going; we will have a table; when and
where it is. 

Chapter Christmas party in December: Do we want to do it? 

Resource Time: Javier Molinares, a chapter member will talk to us about
assistive technology and a project he would like to do with us. 

Any items not listed can be brought up at the end of the meeting.
