Subject: Legislative News Flash!!! NFB of Florida meeting for Tuesday, February 22nd

Good early morning everyone,

The excitement from the Florida legislative west team and for the NFB of Florida continues. I’m so happy to announce that team leaders Brittany and Scott have been able to reschedule the meeting with staff for District 13 for Tuesday, February 22nd at 1:00 PM.

We had a big turnout for this meeting when it was originally scheduled and I am so grateful to all who waited together for the meeting to take place a couple of weeks ago. Yes, we were disappointed, but we all vowed to return when the meeting was reset. Not only do we need the crowd from the first meeting to return, we need even more folks to be present. A review of all 21 meetings held so far revealed that 56 different individuals have attended meetings during our 2022 Washington Seminar. Although this number is impressive, what I am aware of is that, many in our Affiliate have not made it out to any meetings as yet. I have confidence that we can dramatically increase the number of different individuals attending our meetings as we move closer to concluding our 2022 Washington Seminar.

Tuesday’s meeting with Charlie Crist’s office will be the perfect opportunity for you to come and support the active members presenting our legislative priorities and to show support for the priorities themselves. With this email, I am personally asking for just a small amount of your time on Tuesday, about 30 minutes or so. You’ll have the opportunity to learn what goes on at a meeting with Congressional staff and your presence will absolutely demonstrate that we as blind Floridians want support to help us all live the lives we want.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have. The Zoom call in information is listed below. Remember, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the meeting, so plan on calling in at 12:45 PM.

Thank you so much for your participation and for being actively involved in moving issues forward that are critical to us all.

Sincerely,

Russ Davis
