Subject: [NFBF-L] Extra special event tomorrow on Sunrise and Shine with NFB-NEWSLINE The Florida Talking Book Library is on deck for Thursday April 27th at 9:00 AM

Good Morning Sunrise and Shine Faithful!

I hope those of you who attended our last call have recovered from the big birthday party we held for Sunrise and Shine. It’s so hard to believe that our twice monthly Zoom calls are still going strong after three years. As I think about our calls, held in 2023 alone, I realize that we’ve still got amazing energy, wonderful discussion topics, fantastic guest speakers and consistently high attendance figures. Thank you so much for being the reason that Sunrise and Shine with NFB-NEWSLINE® is such a success.

Our tradition of having wonderful guest speakers continues tomorrow morning, as we welcome Nicole Sanders and Maureen Dorosinski from Florida’s Bureau of Braille and Talking Book Library in Daytona Beach. Maureen has been with us before on several occasions and I’m so glad that she’s visiting with us again to talk about the Library’s upcoming Summer Reading Program. The annual Summer reading event always has an interesting theme and has become a staple mid-year activity for many of us. I can’t wait to find out what Maureen has in store for us this year.

After what seemed like a very long wait, the Library finally has a new Bureau Chief on board. Nicole Sanders will take time out of her busy schedule to introduce herself and to find out what Rise and Shine is all about. It will be terrific having a chance to learn more about Nicole and about what plans she envisions for the Library.

If you haven’t been to one of our calls before, joining us at 9:00 AM for coffee tea or leftover birthday cake will give you a chance to find out what you’ve been missing. We always take time for welcoming new guest speakers and participants and for lots of warmth and laughter.

Most of us have become pretty familiar with attending meetings using the Zoom platform over the past couple of years and in fact, we’ve been using Zoom since we launched Rise and Shine way back on April 16th 2020. If you’re not used to using Zoom or if it’s still giving you difficulties, don’t give up just yet. You can access the meeting by clicking on he below listed web link, by using the one tap mobile feature or by dialing the phone number provided and entering the access code when prompted.

The regulars on our call are always warm and welcoming and are thrilled to see new faces.

Hope to have you with us Thursday morning, see below for the Zoom info.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me before the call. Check the bottom of this email for the Zoom call-in instructions.
