Subject: [NFBF-L] Notice of Legislative Committee meeting - Thursday July
27th at 8:00 PM - We have work to do

Hello Federation Family, Friends and Supporters!

Our next Legislative Committee gathering will take place Thursday, July
27th at 8:00 PM, (Eastern). We will have multiple topics on our agenda,
including an update on the status of our legislative priorities for 2023 and
a recap of the NFB national convention legislative workshop. I am so proud
of our Florida affiliate for turning out in large numbers at the convention
Legislative breakout session. If you were in attendance at the workshop,
your input this Thursday evening will be invaluable, so please make time to
join us during our regular monthly meeting.

A lot of positive activity has been happening lately with several of our
bills and with this activity, we can now move forward with planning our next
set of meetings with our US House Reps and with our Senators. These meetings
will take place mostly via Zoom. The great thing about the virtual meetings
we conduct is that everyone will have the opportunity to be involved in the
legislative process. It is your involvement that truly matters and it's what
allows us to effect real change in our community.

Thursday night will also give us an opportunity to learn from one another on
some items of major importance. I know that your time is valuable so I want
to make sure that you come away from the meeting having had the chance to
learn more about and gain some excitement for, the legislative process.
During our 2023 meetings, which I'm thrilled to say have been well attended,
I've continued to receive positive feedback on the idea that we use our
calls to gain knowledge and to learn from one another. We will be preparing
to move ourselves forward with our in State campaign of action and advocacy
soon and will need all of the support and involvement of members and
supporters that we can muster. As we move through the months of 2023 and the
first half of the 118th Congress, we will need full participation from every
Chapter and Division, whether you are in the North, South, East or West of
Florida. One important thing I'd like to point out is that Florida needs
involvement from members in each of its 28 Congressional Districts. We don't
have that now, but it is something that is desperately needed. Having you
with us this Thursday evening is key.

Please see the Zoom link for the meeting below. Looking forward to having
you with us on Thursday, March 23rd at 8:00 PM.

Respectfully,

Russ Davis, Legislative Director
