Over the weekend, the county decided to cancel the October 8th meeting due to the storm. Your resolution will now be on the October 22nd meeting. This is a 9 am meeting in the same place. So sorry for the inconvenience. Please stay safe and make sure you have your hurricane plans in place.

First, I see Camille is asking for a small section to be put back in.  Let me work on it and I will resend it for one last approval.

Second, please confirm which meeting you are attending.  Is it October 8th?  If so, that is a regular BOCC meeting and will start at 5 pm in the Commission Chambers on the first floor of Building C at the Government Center in Viera (2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way).

In reviewing the edited template, I feel the one section removed should be included. We strive to work with public and private entities collaboratively whenever possible so that we are not left out of the discussion and planning on issues that may affect us as blind people.

I cannot stress the importance of having the county willing to work with the National Federation of the Blind to ensure blind citizens of Brevard are part of our community's socio-economic fabric. The removal of the section does not go against our brand; HOWEVER, IF POSSIBLE, WE WOULD PREFER THAT IT REMAIN.

I am attaching the template for the White Cane Proclamation and a copy of one that was partially filled out for Palm Bay for sample. All that needs to be filled in is Commissioner’s  Steele’s name and position, along with your pertinent information.

If the Commissioner’s office wishes to edit any of the content, we ask that it be reviewed by us to ensure it stays on the brand of the National Federation of the Blind.
