A winning formula for “Rise and Shine over the life of our meetings has been to review a feature of NFB-NEWSLINE and then follow with a random topic discussion from all of those in attendance. Thanks to a conversation I had yesterday with Sheri Brun, we thought it would be fun to tie a NFB-NEWSLINE feature together with the round table chat. With that in mind, we’ll cover the extremely powerful “job listings” feature of NFB-NEWSLINE and then go around the room to find out what jobs folks have done in their lives and what they learned from those experiences. The “job listings” section of NFB-NEWSLINE is often overlooked but has so much to offer and the employment experiences of blind people are often under rated and misunderstood, let’s take care of both of those misconceptions tomorrow morning. I can’t wait to hear the interesting stories that I’m sure will surface during our conversation.
