[NFBF-Tampa] Chapter meeting to be held by web/conference call

Dear Tampa Bay Chapter Members & Supporters,
 
                On March 13, the board of directors of the National Federation of the Blind issued a policy concerning NFB gatherings due to the COVID19 virus. This policy states, “> To that end, the President and Board of Directors of the National Federation of the Blind hereby direct that all meetings, events, or public gatherings that are currently planned by affiliates, chapters, and divisions to take place within thirty days from today, March 13, 2020, are to be canceled or postponed until sometime after April 12, 2020. This includes, but is not limited to, statewide conventions or meetings, local chapter meetings, and statewide or local division meetings. Of course, where practicable, meetings to conduct the ongoing business of the Federation may be held via phone call or videoconference. Furthermore, the outreach and advocacy priorities of the organized blind movement can and should continue despite the disruption to public meetings, including monitoring unique barriers that blind individuals encounter due to the extreme circumstances. However, no official business of the organization should be conducted via in-person gatherings during this period. The national leadership will re-evaluate the situation on or shortly after April 12, 2020, and issue additional guidance if needed.”
 
                In light of this directive, the Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Florida will hold its monthly chapter meeting via the Zoom Meeting platform. The meeting will be held at our usual time – 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28. Please read the below information concerning joining our meeting. USING ZOOM
Although traditional conference call dialing is available, we recommend using the free Zoom app for the best audio quality and functionality. The app is easy to use and is available on iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, and Mac.
If you don't already have the app installed, you will be prompted to do so when activating the below Zoom link. Installing the app ahead of time will give you the opportunity to customize it to your preference.

ZOOM COMMANDS
The following are a few commands which can be used during the meeting based on how you joined.
1. Telephone: *6 to mute or unmute. *9 to raise your hand.
2. Windows: ALT+A to mute or unmute. ALT+Y to raise your hand.
3. Mac: CMD+SHIFT+A to mute or unmute. OPTION+Y to raise your hand.
