[NFBF-Tampa] sharing sad news

Hello to all,

 

It's with a heavy heart that I write to tell you of the sudden passing of
our beloved friend and chapter member Marjorie (Madge) Matthews, Lloyd's
wife. She was in the Palm Gardens rehab fecility when she suffered cardiac
arrest and passed away on August 5. Lloyd has now been taken to this same
facility because of severe pain in his hip.

 

Lloyd and his wife were part of our chapter almost since its founding, going
back at least thirty years!

All of Madge's family live in Jamaica except for one aunt who is younger.
She and her husband Harvey Hall live in Tampa. Harvey has graciously kept a
few of us informed about this situation.

 

The funeral service for Madge will take place  on Thursday, August 19 at
10:00AM. It will be held at St. Clement's Episcopal Church, 706 West 113th
Avenue, near Fletcher and Florida, in the Forest Hills subdivision.

When I called the church this afternoon they told me that masks are once
again required.

If there are any other important details I'll send them out on Monday. No
obituary has been published yet.

A few chapter members are definitely planning to attend, including myself.
It would  be wonderful to have other folks from our chapter there to support
Lloyd. Of course arrangements are being made to bring him to the church.

 

I know we'll all be keeping the Matthews family in our thoughts and prayers.
