Chapter Meeting Minutes

August 27, 2022

Chilies Restaurant

2903 N. Dale Mabry HWY

Tampa, Florida

The meeting was called to order by President Miranda Kilby via Zoom at
12:50pM. Since Isabella was sick, and Paul was out of town, Miranda needed
to call in via Zoom from home.

Everyone introduced themselves. There were 18 persons in attendance,
including 5 via Zoom. We welcomed a new guest, Angie Menjivar from
Clearwater.

Miranda then said the NFB pledge on behalf of all.

Secretary and Treasurer Reports

A motion was made by Dan, seconded by Merry, to approve the July meeting
minutes as emailed. The motion passed.

Dan gave the treasurer's report. He said our net total for the fund raising
pancake breakfast was $707.00. Our current balance is $2270.41.

A motion was made by Sherrill, seconded by Louise, to accept the treasurer's
report as read. The motion passed.

President's Report

Miranda thanked everyone who helped in any way with the pancake breakfast.
She also mentioned the enjoyable bowling chapter social event arranged by
Yvonne. She asked us to let Yvonne know by the end of August whether we
wished to participate in another chapter social event at Zoo Tampa.

Miranda said that this Chilies will be starting up their Spirit Nights in
October. She spoke with the manager about our participation, and he said to
reach out to him at the beginning of October to get it set up. Miranda is
waiting on a response about holding another Spirit Night at a Chick-fil-A.

State Convention

Transportation

We discussed taking the train to the convention in Jacksonville. At this
time there are 11 members planning to attend. Miranda needs to get the
banquet choices, names and addresses of those who are going.

Auction Basket

We discussed our chapter's convention auction basket. We decided on the
theme of the outdoors and picnics. The deadline for submitting the
description of our basket is September 4. Miranda will send out an email to
the chapter list so we can let her know what we individually plan to
contribute. Yvonne started filling the basket by saying she will donate an
Amazon gift card for a beach wagon.

Miranda requests that we either bring our items to the September meeting or
to the convention.

Registration and Banquet

Miranda said that the chapter Board had held a meeting and decided we should
once again pay for the preregistration and banquet tickets for those
attending.

Following discussion, a motion was made by Marion, seconded by Dan, that our
chapter will pay for preregistration and banquet ticket for members
attending convention. The motion passed.

Merry generously volunteered to pay the chapter's bank service fee until we
can get our treasury back up to the $2000 required minimum for no fee
charged.

Our 50/50 fundraiser drawing was won by Noe Villeda, who received $25.

Our next meeting will be held at Beef O ' Brady's on September 24.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:47PM.

Respectfully submitted

characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise
expectations because low expectations create barriers between blind people
