We definitely need to have Paratransit looked at. The demand is growing and if students are occupying almost half of the rides during the school year, this will continue to impact the adult disabled riders.

Hi Shanti

My Heart Plus driver yesterday morning said that it Hass to do with hire up with the CEO. That there’s something shady going on at the higher level. That the drivers don’t know nothing about. That’s why Hillsboro County is being looked at by the big people in Tallahassee.

Just wanted to chime in on the Hart Plus mess. I had wondered why Hart Plus was transporting K-12 special needs students. I was recently told by a Hart Plus driver that they transport about 400 such students daily during the school year. This creates limited availability for rides during the early morning and mid to late afternoon times. I asked if HART gets additional funding for these transports and was told no. These kids are transported with other adult passengers and there is no Aide on the bus to provide supervision. That responsibility falls on the driver. I have experienced other Para transit service in other municipalities around the country and I had never encountered traveling with kids that look like they range from elementary to high school level.

Ineko:

I was told by a staff member at the Lighthouse that the Florida Department of Transportation would be investigating all of Hartline including HartPlus and later making a decision about what to do about the company. HartPlus is a mess and so is the company. Can’t get to my personal appointments on time but what else is new?

Hi Marion

This MOrning when I was on heartPlus. the driver told me that next year some time HeartPlus might have different name and different drivers. Whats going on with Hillsboro County Bus system. That there r bad or shady things going on at the top. So all the Info is going up to Tallahassee and then go to another party to be voteded on. And then they will change the name and all the people on city bus and on HeartPlus but they wont know untill nixt year.

Question did u hear about this?

Lots of love always

Ineko
