Dear Tampa Bay Chapter Members & Supporters,

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this Saturday’s meeting, as the Stronger Together band will be having a marathon rehearsal for the show. (This is our third such marathon rehearsal.)

I would like to share with the chapter how hard our band is working, hoping their commitment will inspire you to the same dedication and commitment to this project as they. Since mid May, the five members of the band have met for one hour every Monday via Zoom to discuss the music and its technical elements. In addition, we have met twice for marathon rehearsals. When I say “marathon”, band members met at our home on two separate Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Our last two marathons will be this Saturday. Since these are our last in-person rehearsals until the day of the show, we will meet this Friday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 – 4:00 p.m. This rehearsal will be a combination musical and technical rehearsal with our full sound system in place. On the day of the show, we will have two more rehearsals – one from 9:00 – 12:00 noon and a dress rehearsal from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. The dress rehearsal is intended as the final rehearsal and we will run through the show as we will actually perform it, including all spoken introductions, as well as sound and lighting. Since a live audience is beneficial to the dress rehearsal, any member with a ticket to the show is invited to the dress rehearsal.

All of the band members, Kaitlyn Deverson (Bass) Trent Ferguson (percussion) Z’Leah Libert ,vocals), & Jamie Thomas (keyboard) have shown unwavering commitment to this project. I want to give SPECIAL shout-outs to Trent and Kaitlyn. Trent lived in Sebring before he moved to Tampa to pursue his education in Mass Communications and traveled to Tampa for rehearsals. Not only did Kaitlyn and her mom come over from Port St. Lucie, due to the long ride and early morning rehearsal, they stayed at a hotel up the street from me. That’s dedication!

I hope this message inspires everyone to redouble this effort and make this event the huge success it can be. We can achieve our goal and surpass it. Let’s make it happen!,

Fraternally yours,

Marion
