[NFBF-Tampa] Are 2024 goals and ideas

Hello all,

For more ideas for social activities and fundraisers, please refer to the minutes I just sent out to the list. At that October meeting we came up with some of the same ideas we spoke about yesterday, but there are several others to consider.

It was a good meeting yesterday, and I’m glad I was at least able to participate via Zoom.

Good morning all,

Please see the below email that I previously wrote regarding some ideas I have for the chapter. This is where everyone writes in what they would like to see happen. Please keep in mind of the ones that were previously spoken upon at our last meeting I will briefly put them below, and no particular order.

Comedy club

 Tampa museum.

Hart Plus application assessability.

St. Patrick’s Day event in Brandon.

2025 Gasparilla.

In addition to my email below, I am adding indoor skydiving. 

If I forgot an idea that you have mentioned, I do apologize and as you add it to the list. Looking forward to hearing from all of you. 

Good afternoon all,

Those who have replied that they will not be in our next meeting, you truly will be missed. However, you still have time to get your ideas and goals in. So, I will start some suggestions. These suggestions are in no particular order of significance.

I would like to see the chapter do a gala. This Gayla would be a fundraiser, but it also would be an outreach project. Perhaps we can connect with an eye Doctor or someone along those lines, to  be a keynote speaker. I would say October, because that is Blind achievement equality month, but I think there is too much competition and we might not get the attendance we are looking for. I’m suggesting February 2025, this gives us quite a bit of time to plan and execute such event. 

A car wash, perhaps we can connect with other organizations, such as the fire department to raise funds, and for a community outreach project. This would allow the community to see us doing things out in the community. I am also suggesting for us to look into doing something at the 2025 Gasparilla. Whether it is having a table, advertising who we are, and what we do, fundraising, or just getting together and enjoying the festivities.

Zoo Tampa. I would like to see a social event where we have a behind-the-scenes experience with animals and other things that the zoo could offer.

I hope you all have marked your calendar for Saturday, January 27, from 12 PM until 2 PM for our monthly meeting. However, Until then, I hope that you will start thinking of goals for the chapter, which includes social events, community outreach projects, fundraisers, and anything in between. Let’s make 2024 our best year ever! See all of you soon.

P.S. don’t forget that our yearly dues are due, which are $10  and we have elections in February. The The positions are available are, president, secretary, and board position to. if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me by your preferred method.
