Subject: [NFBF-Tampa] A Tribute to Dr George Rosanelli
I feel compelled to write a small tribute to Dr. George Rosanelli so that those of you who can not attend his memorial service may understand the lasting
impact his life’s work had on me and so many other of his patients.
I was diagnosed with severe glaucoma at the early age of 28 and became one of Dr. Rosanelli’s first surgical patients at the USF Eye Institute in Tampa.
He monitored my eye pressures thoroughly and, even though I experienced many surgical procedures over 42 years, he maintained 20/20 vision in one
of my eyes. Dr. Rosanelli provided care above and beyond what is delivered by most doctors. In later years as my options for treatment were exhausted,
he would spend time after his work hours reviewing my records and studying my visual fields and other test results over time. On more than one occasion
when my eyes were in crisis, he opened his office to me on a Saturday and gave up his weekend time to ensure I didn’t lose vision.
As a long term patient of Dr. Rosanelli, I also had the privilege of watching love blossom between him and Yvonne. I have followed both the ups and downs of their lives for a very long time. Such a long term relationship with George and Yvonne was built on mutual respect and then a lasting friendship. I dreaded the fact that Dr. Rosanelli had to retire in 2022.
I have now lost significant vision in my eye that was 20/20 for the 42 years he served as my glaucoma specialist. I feel strongly that this vision loss would never have happened under his watch. I now am learning to accept a life with low vision and am grateful for all the fabulous years of vision that Dr. Rosanelli made possible. I pray that he is given a special place in heaven for all the good works he did here on earth.
Rest in peace, dear friend. I miss you greatly.
Cathy Fleeger

Subject: [NFBF-Tampa] Memorial service for Dr George Rosanelli
Greetings members, supporters, and friends,
Dr. Rosanelli's memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 5, from 12:30 to 2:30 PM. It will be held at the Garden Of Memories funeral home which is located on 4207 E. Lake Ave. --
Dr. George Rosanelli was a huge supporter and member of the Tampa Bay chapter and it would be great to see as many as we can be there to support Yvonne through this difficult time. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer them.
