Dear Barbara,
Wonderful thoughts and sentiments! As a group, we should certainly be inclusive to all of our members justice we asked for inclusiveness and every day life and activities by the general population and society. Due to the fact that I do not live in the Tampa area, I am unaware of the resources that may be available in the Community.. however, in the Fort/Cape Coral Market there is at least one and probably more organisations for the death family heart of hearing. Since I know the director of one of the organisations in the Fort Myers Lions Club Resources might be available in the Tampa market.. also, I was wondering if the local CIL might have some options for you. If he wears hearing aids, possibly where he may sit from the main speakers might be important. It might be possible that he might need his hearing reevaluated, unless of course he has none. and/or you may need some adjust. If that might be the case and funds are an issue, Lions might be able to offer some assistance. While I do not know everybody in the NFB.-Fl who may be deaf fine, I am aware of a couple and you might want to contact one of them. There is someone in the local area, that could be ideal..
However, for a person to receive assistance with an issue and especially a health issue, they must first be willing to accept sex assistance and even more important and a better scenario as if they ask for assistance with the issues that they have. I am not sure what an individual who is staff line and hearing aids do not work for them would need to do.. also, had a recent event I attended the Florida deafen blind school at Saint Augustine was there and maybe they may be worth a consultation. In the past, I know they have attended the NFB.-Fl convention, the school has been there and probably will be at the next one so that contact information should definitely be available. Whatever the case,Ineligible my Swann and be going to accept whatever assistance can or would be offered. Of course, there is the possibility that whatever issues or concerns he may have going on in his life, they have nothing to do with being deaf line.. my apologies if I may have overstep, even though I am a member I am not resigning in the Tampa area at this time and don’t have the knowledge of the community like everybody else in the chapter may have.
Thanks, Paul

I am aware that there is a deaf, blind division as a part of the NFB, but that doesn’t solve the problem of how we can have people who are deaf, blind attend our meeting and be able to participate in person. Is it true that we can’t afford an interpreter for the two hours that we meet once a month? How can we feel comfortable having social outings if we exclude people due to accessibility issues? Has anybody ever bothered to find out how much that would cost?
