Hello Statewide Advocates and Friends Across Florida,

Need another reason to join our next Florida Statewide Chapter Meeting this
Sunday? We’re celebrating Blind Equality Achievement Month with two
inspiring guest presentations you won’t want to miss!

Presentation 1: Trent Ferguson – Sports Broadcaster

Join us this Sunday, October 19, at 8:00 PM Eastern for an evening with Trent
Ferguson, a talented sports radio broadcaster, proud University of South
Florida graduate, and lifelong advocate for pursuing your passions without
limits.

Blind since birth, Trent has built a successful career in radio, anchoring
sportscasts, co-hosting “Outta Sight Sports,” and producing sports segments
for stations across Florida. He’ll share how he broke into broadcasting,
the challenges he’s overcome, and what drives his love for connecting with
others through storytelling.

Paralympians who have represented our country in the sport of Goalball.

They’ll share their inspiring journeys, from discovering the sport to
competing at the highest levels, including the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
Their stories of dedication, teamwork, and perseverance highlight the

Jose Bohorquez, Secretary

Florida Statewide Chapter - National Federation of the Blind of Florida

"We know that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or our
future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low
expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. Our
collective power, determination, and diversity achieve the aspirations of
all blind people."
