I hope all is well with everyone. I would like to share some news from Self-Reliance, Inc. our center for independent living here in Tampa. Self-Reliance is now providing FREE white folding canes for residents
of Hillsborough County. So if you have misplaced or broken your white cane and are not interested in waiting for one to be shipped to you, don’t want the rigid cane provided by the national NFB office, or really don’t want to pay the 40 or 50 dollars you
will be charged by the Lighthouse, go to Self-Reliance for a new folding cane. The address is 8901 N. Armenia Av. Tampa, FL. The phone number for Self-Reliance is (813)375-3965. If you need a special length other than the ones they have in stock, one will
be ordered for you; it will probably be received within a day or two. You won’t be responsible for ordering it online or mailing off a cane request.

In other news from Self-Reliance, we will now be offering a scholarship for students with disabilities who live in Hillsborough County to be used for post-secondary education. The scholarship application
and requirements will be available soon on our website at Self-Reliance.org. If you know of anyone who is planning on going to or is currently in college, planning on going to or is enrolled at a technical school and has a documented disability, please share
this information. Good luck to all who apply!
