I was thinking of organizing a group to come to the New York convention next year as many people in my network live in this area. We'll see when it's closer....

No, there is no group that gets together at convention. Nor, to my knowledge, has there been throughout the entire history of the national Federation of the blind. There is only this list which, as you can see, got virtually no traffic before this week. Perhaps, if we get enough people, we can start getting a body together who would gather at convention.
