I’m hoping there’s a better answer, even if it’s not a program designed for us. There must surely be people in Israel who want to scan Hebrew documents and nowadays that usually includes OCR and not just image production. We really need connection with Israeli Blind people. There used to be an Israeli Blind email list that started out in English and switched to a mix of mainly Hebrew with someone on the list translating to English and Arabic. And I stopped following it at some point and then it disappeared. There just has to be *something* out there in such a relatively high tech country.
Anyway, in the meantime, there’s a kind of quick and dirty workaround if you don’t mind using AI and it’s resource heavy problem for the planet.
If you can take a picture of a Hebrew document or even mixed language document, I copy the photo, paste it into Chat GPT and ask it for what I want. Like, for it to tell me every word oof the text in the photo, or to tell me every word of the Hebrew text in the photo, in a format I can copy and paste. Then I can recreate the document in Hebrew text. That’s, of course, better for short documents, but you’ve sort of performed OCR, taking an image and having it changed into editable text. If you want, along the way, you can have chat gpt translate it.  Probably other AI can do the same, that’s just what I use.
