[NFBJ] National Convention Plans

Greetings everyone,
I hope everyone has had a joyous Purim. Our NFB national convention is
scheduled in Austin, TX to run from July 3-8, 2026.  Details regarding
convention registration and hotel reservations can be found at
www.nfb.org/convention.  The head of convention operations has already sent
out a call for national groups and divisions to request a space to meet and
placement on the convention agenda.  Over the last two years, we have met
on the 2nd evening of the convention.  However, that time falls on
Saturday, July 4.  Unless we met very late in the evening, it will still be
Shabat when we start our meeting.  Therefore, I plan to request that we
meet on Sunday, July 5, 2025.  I know that the JBI library will
definitely be there.  I would like to hear if there are subjects or program
ideas that people have for that meeting or perhaps a zoom meeting in late
April or early to mid-May.
In 2024, we had a Shabbat Celebration on the Friday night of the
convention.  Is there interest in doing something like that on July 3 or
perhaps having a morning service on July 5?  I would like to see if there
is interest in working on putting something together.  Let me know by
responding on this list or contacting me directly via email or phone.  If
interested, please let me know in the next week or so, as there is a hard
deadline of April 15 to get agenda items in.  Also, the earlier requests
are made, the more likely it is that the requested time and location will
be honored.
