Hi,
Providing one's pronouns is a way to allow for people to know how to interact with someone without being rude, particularly since names are not a reliable way to determine someone's gender identity. Remember the Johnny Cash song, "Boy Named Sue"?
Moreover, when I was growing up, I was taught that if I didn't have anything nice to say, I shouldn't say anything at all.
