[NFBJ] November 8 gentle suggestion

I've been thinking about this discussion, as important as it is. However, perhaps we might be putting the cart before the horse here. I think it is important to talk about Braille Trope. If you don't have Braille Trope signs, you cannot effectively learn how to read Torah. So we need to know about the two or three Braille Trope systems that are available. We need to know how to obtain Braille Trope sign tables. We need to be able to obtain samples of how these trope systems work. I think unless we talk about Braille Trope first reading Torah doesn't make any sense, because there's no foundation for being able to learn how to do it.



I feel that it is my right, and the right of any Jew to be able to read Torah. I also think it is an incredible privilege and integral to my worship as a Jew. Having been denied this right and this privilege for most of my life  is a great concern to me.

Please save the date of November 8, 2026, 2 PM EST for the next NFB in Judaism meeting.  where we will hear from two individuals who have projects creating the opportunity for blind people to read directly from the Torah.
