The Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) is seeking a parent of a current KSB
student to serve on the KSB Advisory Board. The purpose of this
communication is to solicit your recommendation for a parent to fill this
vital position.



The KSB Advisory Board provides a means by which knowledgeable person or
persons representing interest groups may contribute to the improvement of
educational opportunities for children who are blind and visually impaired
in Kentucky. The Advisory Board may offer recommendations to the KSB
Administration regarding:



.            General objectives regarding the education students who are
blind or visually

     Impaired

.            Student services

.            School/Community relations



Appointments to the board are made by the Kentucky Board of Education (KBE).
It is our hope to submit a name to the Commissioner of Education and to KBE
for possible action at their February meeting.



To recommend a parent, please send a letter of recommendation, along with
the parent's resume (if available), to Soraya Matthews, Acting Campus
Manager, no later than November 20, 2008.  You may send your letter by mail,
fax 502-897-2994 or email soraya.matthews at education.ky.gov. Letters should
be mailed to:
