Subject: [glcb] TARC Service Rolls for Thunder
TARC will provide special service to downtown for Thunder Over Louisville on Saturday, April 17. Beginning at 3:30 p.m. buses will be added to the 14 routes
that provide service into downtown Louisville. These buses will operate in between regularly scheduled service on these routes.
The routes are:
#2-Second Street (Crittenden Drive to downtown only).
#4-Fourth Street
#6-Sixth Street
#15-Market Street
#17-Bardstown Road
#18-Preston/18th Street
#19-Muhammad Ali Blvd.
#21- Chestnut Street
#23-Broadway
#31-Middletown
#43-Poplar Level Road/Portland
#55-Westport Road
#63-Crums Lane
#71-Jeffersonville (Court & Spring to Allison Lane and 10th Street)
Following the fireworks, TARC buses will provide continuous service from downtown Louisville until 11:30 p.m. The map above shows where to board the buses
after the fireworks. Customers should pay particular attention to the five downtown boarding locations as buses have restricted downtown travel. These
are the only downtown locations to catch buses after the event. There will be no return trips to Indiana due to closure of 2nd Street Bridge.

Public Hearings Reminder
TARC is seeking public input on a proposal to raise the fare on 16 express routes from $1.50 to $2.50 each way. The cost of a monthly passes would increase
from $42 to $80 for express riders. The monthly pass for riders of local routes would continue to cost $42.
The $1 surcharge on express service was suggested by riders at public meetings in early March as a way to save 13 express routes that were slated for elimination.
The fare increase will allow TARC to keep its popular express service and help make up a projected $5.5 million shortfall. It is expected that the express
routes will also see some reductions in the number of runs.
TARC has scheduled public meetings for April 12-15 (see schedule below). Those wishing to comment can also email comments to info at ridetarc.org or call 561-5112.
Feedback on the proposed express fare increase will be presented to the TARC Board of Directors at its meeting on April 26 at 8:30 a.m. If approved by the
board, the express fare will go into effect July 1.
