Description of Vacancy's Duties :	 Learns to provide training in
skilled area to persons with disabilities to include personal
adjustment, basic adult education, Braille, adapting to assisting
technology, etc.
Works with consumers to teach recommended skills,
Responsible for the safety and security of residents in residential
dormitory setting and facility. Learns to serve as a trainer to work
with consumers individually or in group settings. Provides input to
rehabilitation management on program goals, objectives and
accomplishments. Provides documentation for supervisor's approval as to
consumer's skill levels and ability to performs skills needed for
rehabilitation, training, or to gain independence leading to employment.
Provides documentation through shift report on activities and issues
occurring in dormitory during shift. Inspects dormitory rooms for
cleanliness and safety. Monitors dormitory and consumers, ensuring that
state, agency, and facility policy and procedures are followed. Contacts
on-duty manager in cases of emergency or needed assistance/guidance.
Maintains first-aid and CPR certifications. Answers telephones and
entrance doors. and performs light emergency maintenance duties.	
Selection Method :	 Qualifying: All candidates who apply and meet

Characteristics of the Class :	 Under supervision, gains skills to
perform professional level vocational rehabilitation functions such as
vocational or technology assessments, rehabilitation technology,
rehabilitation instruction, personal adjustment, job development and job
placement functions, basic public relations functions, supported
employment and/or vocational evaluation; OR Under supervision performs
as a novice counselor, providing basic vocational rehabilitation
caseload duties such as collecting information and making
recommendations for determining eligibility, plan development and
implementation; and performs other duties as required.	
Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements :	 Work is
performed primarily in an office setting. Occasional travel will be
required to coordinate services between customers and the agency.	
Additional Requirements :	 Applicants and employees in this
classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and
background check.
