[Nfbk] State Convention

Jeff County admit they are wrong! I learned that neither of the clerks even
knows the alphabet. One doesn't even realize the spatial relationship
between dots. He Brailed out an 800 page print book as one file. I wonder
how he decided to break it into volumes since he can't read page numbers?
Steve are you still at Central? Sharon Davis left me with the impression
that the four teachers there are proofing the material. I know this isn't
true because one told me she isn't. We need to make sure that parents are
aware of this. Nickie has put something on facebook and has gotten the
attention of a few parents. I can't remember if I told you all or not, but
Sharon Davis is not going to be at our convention. Jackie June will be
there. I think her title is Program Specialist. I won't have a problem with
telling her what I think either. I am working on a list of questions for us
to ask. Unfortunately, I have learned that no one from KSB will attend. I
was hoping that either John Roberts or Soraya Matthews could come. I'll bet
my blood pressure is 200 over 200.

Get those registration forms in to Ranelle.

Cathy

Are print textbooks not proofread for formatting problems and typos?
Don't we have the right to demand the same consideration for the education
of our blind children? I thought we were no longer living in the time when a
second-rate education was acceptable. Jeff County should admit they made a
mistake, eat some crow and right this wrong.

It's a lot more satisfying to reach for the stars, even if you end up
landing only on the moon.

There is no replacement for BRAILLE!!! Even though I don't use it
in public reading, I use it every day in one fashion or another!!!
Technology is awesome, however, without the ability to read, what good are a
bunch of characters, links and whatever on a computer screen going to do!
