One and All,

One of our young blind colleagues needs our support. His name is Sam
Moore. Sam graduated from Western Kentucky University a couple of years
ago with honors with a degree in broadcasting. He has been working with a
station in Owensboro since he graduated and doing an outstanding job. Now,
he is asking our support to help him move up into the bigger leagues of
broadcasting.

Sam is competing in the Kentucky Sports Television Casting Call. The
competition is sponsored by Sam Swope Honda World of Louisville, and
Kinedy's Wildcat Den in Lexington. It is essentially a talent search, with
the intention of finding a co-host to accompany the host (Matt Jones) on
the state-wide sports program. The contest is structured somewhat
similarly to American Idol, in the sense that fan voting is occasionally
necessary to advance contestants to the upcoming round (as is the case here.)

Kentucky Sports Television is a 30-minute sports show which covers
only UK Sports. It is aired five nights a week on CN2, with CN standing
for commonwealth Network. It is found on cable channel 2, and is provided
to Insight cable customers across the majority of the state. This includes
customers in the Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, and Evansville
markets. Its primary emphasis is on UK football and basketball, although
other school sports are occasionally highlighted during periods of success.

In May, KSTV Casting Call auditions were held in two locations...one
in Lexington and one in Louisville. All told, 20 finalists from the
Lexington auditions advanced to the finals, and 25 from Louisville are
marching on. However, in order to proceed to the next round, contestants
must survive an 8-day period of on-line fan voting. Out of 45 finalists
still alive, only the top 15 vote getters will advance to the next round in
July. The voting period extends through next Friday, June 17th. An actual
winner won't be determined until roughly the 1st of August.

The site used for fan voting is www.mycn2.com where you will also find a
description of the design and purpose of the competition in-depth.

If you will take a few minutes and go to this site and vote for Sam, it
will greatly increase the odds of his moving on to the next level of the
competition and his success will represent success for all of us.
