Seminars at Hadley Presents: Horizons for the Blind and the INNOVATIVE
directionsforme.org!

Date: Thursday, May 19, 2011

Time: 4 PM CDT, 21:00 GMT

Horizons for the Blind is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people
who are blind or visually impaired by increasing accessibility to consumer
products and services, education, recreation and the cultural arts. In 2010,
Horizons for the Blind launched an innovative new Web site called [1]Directions
for Me, which provides accessible packaging information for over
350,000 products.

Join Seminars at Hadley as Project Coordinator and Technology Specialist Byron
Lee tells all about Horizons for the Blind and Directions for Me.

This 60 minute seminar will be moderated by Hadley Outreach Coordinator Billy
Brookshire. A question and answer session will be included.

Space in this seminar is limited. Please only register if you know you are
available to attend so that others are not closed out. [2]To register for this
seminar, follow this link.

Helpful Email Considerations

Many email addresses don’t contain your full name, and some do not contain any
part of your name. Because of this, it will be helpful to all here at the
Hadley School if you will follow these guidelines when sending email messages
to instructors and Student Service representatives:

1. If you are emailing an instructor, please put the course name and
assignment number you are writing about as the subject line.

2. Put your full name in the body (or edit field) of every email message sent
to someone at Hadley.

3. If you are sending an attached file, please write a sentence in the body of
the email that clarifies that you are emailing an attachment. Do not just
attach a file to a blank message. If you do, it is not guaranteed that it will
be opened.

Hadley thanks each of you for following these steps, which will save us time in
reading and replying to many emails each day.

Attention Readers

Join the Hadley Book Chat on Monday, June 6 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. CST for our
discussion of the New York Times bestseller, Three Cups of Tea: one man's
mission to fight terrorism and build nations-- one school at a time by Greg
Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. This controversial, engaging and
inspirational biography about humanitarian assistance is sure to promote a
lively discussion. Three Cups of Tea is available at [3]Bookshare and
the [4]National Library Service. For further information and log-on
instructions, contact Debbie Siegel at siegel at hadley.edu.
