Description of Job Duties
Plans & organizes late afternoon and evening recreational activities for the
consumers, plus one activity on the weekend. Encourages consumers
participation in order to learning and participating in new activities and
hobbies. Coordinates services with vendors, counselors, and other service
providers. Learns to provide training in World of Work(WOW) class on topics
such as being a team player, problem solving skills, and acceptable work
behaviors. Assists consumers in applying for, obtaining, and participating
in Para-transit and other necessary services and non-medical services beyond
the Center. Provides documentation on consumers progress on the ability to
obtain their goals and objectives.
Selection Method :
Qualifying: All candidates who apply and meet the minimum requirements are
eligible for placement on the register for hiring consideration.

VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION
Characteristics of the Class :
Under supervision, gains skills to perform professional level vocational
rehabilitation functions such as vocational or technology assessments,
rehabilitation technology, rehabilitation instruction, personal adjustment,
job development and job placement functions, basic public relations
functions, supported employment and/or vocational evaluation; OR Under
supervision performs as a novice counselor, providing basic vocational
rehabilitation caseload duties such as collecting information and making
recommendations for determining eligibility, plan development and
implementation; and performs other duties as required.
Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements :
Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Occasional travel will be
required to coordinate services between customers and the agency.
Additional Requirements :
Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to
a drug screening test and background check.
