Anyone who is able to come should feel free to attend this meeting. There is no need to pre-register for this meeting. Although it is held in conjunction with the APH Annual Meeting, this meeting is open to anyone. You do not have to be registered for the APH Annual Meeting to attend, and it is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Park Suite, which is on the second floor of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Louisville on Thursday, October 17. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Consortium Meeting
A Related Meeting to be held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of Ex Officio Trustees and Special Guests of the American Printing House for the Blind, Inc.

Using the model of the AFB Solutions Forum, this meeting will feature discussion of issues related to the development and delivery of accessible curricular content in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) areas of the Core Curriculum.

The discussion panel will include some of the leading experts on STEM access from around the country:

- Steve Noble a Research Consultant and Lecturer at the University of Louisville, as well as Content Specialist for Mathematics and Science at Bridge Multimedia. He will discuss enhanced access to mathematics equations with MathPlayer3, plus a sneak peak at new capability to read chemical and nuclear reaction equations using synthetic speech.

- Derrick Smith is a Special Education Professor and Researcher on STEM education for individuals with visual impairments and blindness at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He will give a project update and give a demo of the WAVES toolbar (currently in development by gh) which will provide the ability to access, create and edit math equations.

- Steve Jacobs is President of IDEAL Group, Inc., and has been in the computer industry for 38 years, including serving as President of IDEAL at NCR Corporation. He will discuss the work of IDEAL Group and Apps4Android. 

- Suzy Haines is Digital Content Manager for Benetech. She will give an update on accessible STEM-related developments being led by the DIAGRAM Center.

This related meeting will be held in the Park Suite during Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 17, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
