I'm glad it went well. I will be at the meeting Saturday. As of now I won't be at the open house. I'd have to be home by one to start work, so I am not sure it would be worth the trip, dealing with the bus or Tarc3.

The event was emceed by local television personality Dawne Gee and we heard from leaders at TARC, First Transit, Louisville Metro Government, and Honorable Judge David Holton. Judge Holton also performed the guitar and led the group in singing My Old Kentucky Home. The Governor and Mayor White Cane Proclamations were read and a White Cane Award was presented to Judge Holton for his service in Louisville. The NFB of Greater Louisville hosted an information booth where we distributed literature, talked with many people about blindness and the NFB, and sold 50/50 raffle tickets. The lucky winner of the raffle was NFB member, Ron Byrd. I’d like to thank fellow NFB members Josh Gentry, Ian Bray, and Cathy Jackson who came down to help at this event. I would call this event a success! Our next event will be on Wednesday October 23 from 10:00-3:00 at the McDowell Center (8412 Westport Rd) where we will again host an information booth and conduct another raffle. Don’t forget that we will also have a chapter meeting this Saturday October 19 from 1:00-3:00 at the Kentucky School for the Blind food service building (1867 Frankfort Ave). As always if you have any questions please feel free to call me at 262-1403.
