> I wanted you all to know the details on our Film Festival for this summer. Continuing on from last year, with our movies from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, this year we have movies from the 70s, 80s, and 00s. Once again we’ll have popcorn and soft drinks, and Nancy Urbscheit will be back to lead our discussion. If you came last, year, you’ll know it’s a fun time for all. Here’s the line-up.

> Explore how blindness is depicted by Hollywood at our APH Museum Film Festival. The summer event screens films featuring an important character who is blind, followed by discussion. This month’s movie is Butterflies Are Free (1972), which A blind man (Edward Albert) moves into his own apartment against the wishes of his overprotective mother (Eileen Heckart, and befriends the aspiring actress who lives next door (Goldie Hawn). It was based on the real experiences of Harold Krentz, a lawyer and graduate of Harvard. Nominated for several Oscars, the movie scored one win for Eileen Heckart as best supporting actress. Rated PG.

> The second movie is this series is See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989), directed by Arthur Hiller. A blind man (Richard Pryor) and a deaf man (Gene Wilder) witness a murder. However, the police are unwilling to accept them as creditable witnesses, and so the pair work together to bring the murderers to justice. Lots of farcical situations and slapstick humor. Rated R.
