Hi everyone,

As you all know, this year's state convention is fast approaching and we've got some last minute things here in Louisville we want to let you all know about as well as a few requests.   

Friday night social-  I'm excited to announce that this year the Greater Louisville will once again have a Monte Carlo night for our Friday night social.  This was a huge success for us several years ago and we hope that it's even better this time around!  We will have several tables where a variety of poker games will be played, as well as a dice table, and an Uno table for those that don't like to gamble.  Bags of chips will be sold for $5 at the door and you'll have plenty of chances to win your money back, plus more.  First place gets $30, second gets $15, and third gets $10.  Think of it this way, you have the chance to either win back the cost of the banquet, the luncheon, or registration.  So come out Friday night and have a good time with us!  

Childcare- Jayne Seif is handling childcare for us this year and needs to know how many kids are going to be at convention so that she can make sure we have enough sitters to cover everyone.    If you're planning on bringing your child or if someone you know is, please make sure that you/they preregister so she has enough time to make arrangements.  We are also asking that other chapters/divisions please consider making donations to help GL cover the cost of childcare this year if possible.  If you have any questions about either of these requests you can contact Jayne at JayneSeif at att.net or at 502 500 7675.  

Door Prizes-  Sharri Anderson is in charge of door prizes for us for this year.   First and foremost we hope that everyone will be as generous as they have been in years past and that you'll bring door prizes with you this year.  Also, I know that most of you bring the door prizes with you the day of convention, but if you know now what you will be bringing it would be really helpful if you could go on and let Sharri know so that we can make labels for everything ahead of time. Luncheon Cost (Specific to GL members)-   The GL board has decided that we will be providing some financial assistance this year to our members.  If you preregister and you paid your dues by August 1st, you will be reimbursed for your luncheon ticket cost either at convention or right after convention ends (You also must not be receiving financial assistance from the state that covers meals).  The luncheon is a wonderful opportunity to see our state board in action during our open business meeting, you won't want to miss it!  You still have a few days to get your preregistration form into Mike, so please make sure you do that!  No exceptions will be made to the preregistration rule.
