Description of Job Duties

The Kentucky Business Enterprise (KBE) within OFB, is a vending and food service program operated by individuals who are blind or visually impaired. The program trains and places individuals as self-employed operators of snack bars, dining facilities, and automated vending facilities in public and private buildings across the Commonwealth. This position oversees the KBE Blind Vendors program for OFB and is responsible for interpreting and applying state and federal regulations, policies and procedures relating to the Randolph-Sheppard Act, which governs the programs. Provides support to, and resolves concerns for 250 vending locations and vendors across the state. Oversees negotiations for contracts of vending facilities between OFB and Facilities Management. Attends and assists with quarterly vendor committee meetings and provides administrative support to the committee. Supervises KBE staff and provides quality management direction. Participates in various teams, including the OFB Executive Leadership Team and the State Rehabilitation Council. Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION

Characteristics of the Class :

Provides administrative support services to a division director. Provides technical management assistance to organizational units within the division. Performs the duties of the director in her/his absence; and performs other duties as required.

Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements :

Work is primarily performed in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.

Additional Requirements :

Upon appointment, employees in this class may be required to maintain a valid driver's license and required to drive a licensed vehicle. This status may be necessary for the length of time in this class. If this is necessary it will be listed in the specific position description for that position.
