[Nfbk] New TARC Fare Collection System

TARC is announcing plans for a new fare collection system that is scheduled to begin operating in December 2017. 

TARC is seeking public comment and invites passenger feedback now while the new system is being designed. The comment period will include 11 public open houses (link below) and other ways to comment through Sept. 15.

FARES ARE NOT INCREASING. The way you can pay will change. TARC will replace paper tickets, passes and transfer slips with a smartcard that will provide tap-and-go payment on new fare boxes on buses. 

Cash – exact change only – will still be accepted.
