This is to let everyone know about the Kidde fire extinguisher recall
that is currently going on. Some of the defective extinguishers go
back as far as 1973. These fire extinguishers are sold under many
brand names and are defective.
  Consumers should immediately contact Kidde to request a free
replacement fire extinguisher and for instructions on returning the
recalled unit, as it may not work properly in a fire emergency.
  If you go to the Kidde website, they will explain how to determine
if your fire extinguisher is on the recall list and how to receive a
free replacement.

and serial number and date code handy to determine if it is one of the
defective models.
