A total solar eclipse will pass through the southwest portions of Kentucky
August 21st.

The attached map shows areas where the eclipse will be 100%, but a partial
solar eclipse will be visible throughout the Commonwealth.

Viewers of the solar eclipse should use approved solar glasses, filters, or
number 14 welder's goggles.

Viewing a total or partial eclipse with the naked eye can cause solar
retinopathy, a preventable central blindness.

The Louisville Astronomical Society can provide solar glasses upon request.
