[Nfbk] Apple iPhone apps and App Store accessibility

I would definitely like to speak with you! I have read the entire ADA, but I would like to clarify in case what I first said could be misinterpreted. The best way that I have had success is talking to a manager or supervisor, the only real reason you may want to talk to the legal department is to just mention that the Americans with disabilities act states that their product needs to be made in accessible and the reasons that you feel that they are so. In no way should you cite any portion of the act, any statutes related to inaccessibility and mobile applications or otherwise. Do not in anyway act as if you are going to take them to court on your behalf and especially the Federation, the point that you want to get across is that the application is in accessible to you and you want them to look into the laws or to a person with the power to make the needed changes and then follow up frequently to see if progress has been made. Every time I make sure I always establish a good rapport with anyone I talk to in the company, make it extremely clear that even though I have been a user and customer with them for multiple years and have paid them hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars that I have stayed with them even if they haven’t complied with my request of simple things like adding alternative text to an application which takes less time than me writing. Over the past couple weeks I have called dozens upon dozens of these companies and after talking with many of them, every single one of them understood that we just want to be able to use the services that we are paying for like everyone else. This really does work! Especially if you make sure to update your one star review, do follow up emails and or calls, as well as calling on both weekdays and weekends because different supervisors work on those days for the most part.

The ADA is under assault because of widespread misconceptions about the Act that unfortunately led to what may end up being one of the most devastating things for disabled people in years. Accessibility is important, but this just strikes me as the wrong way to go about it.

I scroll through the channels and I am suddenly taken back to the beginning. Is there any way to stop this or slow it down. If not, I will write to Spectrum.

>> First, any application you have downloaded in the past that was inaccessible and that you removed, go back to the App Store and give it a one star.
>> Second, if you still have any of these apps that are partially accessible then do the same thing as above. When you leave one starter make sure that you put the title in all capital letters and I would suggest adding something about accessibility, inaccessibility or something of that nature.
>>
>> You may want to add in that they are potentially breaking a federal law and the Americans with disabilities act by not providing their service to us. For the best results, update your review every single time that they update the app to the latest version. That will bring your review to the very top and have the highest chance of it getting noticed by developer.
>> The last thing that you can do is this. When you go to the app on the App Store you should see an option to contact the developer directly. Basically do the exact same as above and tell them that you would like to be notified when the changes are made and that their application is now abiding by the regulations set forth in the Americans with disabilities act.
>>
>> Over the past month I have contacted dozens of large companies, including six financial institutions, my personal security system and other applications I will be using for my Real Estate. You can see my progress below and if any of you have any questions then feel free to ask me. Hopefully we can join together and make the App Store accessible as it should have been already! 😁
