Dennis Ray Franklin

Louisville - Franklin, Dennis Ray, 73, of Louisville Kentucky, passed away on Friday August 20, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, McDonald Franklin, and Thelma Taylor. He is survived by his wife Beth, daughter Kim Marmillot (Dallas), step daughter Sara Banks (Todd), 5 step grandchildren, brothers, Donald Franklin (Mary), John Franklin (Teresa), sisters Nelda Duke, Nancy Scott, and Debbie Meador (Steve).

He is a graduate of Scottsville High School, 1965, and alumnae of Western Kentucky University and retired from Kentucky Business Enterprises. He was a vending stand owner and operator for over 40 years. He was active with the National Federation of the Blind in Local and national roles. He was instrumental in numerous legislative attachments relating to education and employment of blind persons.

He was an avid Historian, who also loved to read and travel.
