Please join us on Friday, January 7 at 6 PM, EST via Zoom for our monthly
chapter meeting. Recognizing the recent severe weather and that during
emergencies, receiving and providing critical information quickly to first
responders is essential, our topic will be how to sign up for and use the
SMART911 services. Did you know that over 80% of calls made to 9-1-1 come
from mobile phones. When you dial 9-1-1 from a mobile phone, the 9-1-1 call
takers have very little information to help you, - only your phone number
and a very general sense of your location. This is a serious problem in an
emergency when seconds count, particularly if you or your loved ones have
medical conditions, or are unable to safely speak. The solution is SMART911.
