Joseph,
Disclaimer: the following post is not hate speech at all. These are just my viewpoints on the issue. I wish no one ill will or harm.

After carefully considering everything I tend to agree. Just because some people want you to move platforms is insane. I'm curious why make the move now? If the issue is we are moving due to the accessibility team being fired then, the flag should have been planted during the entire issue. Twitter is still accessible. I use it on a daily basis in fact. Yes, there is progress that needs to be done on accessibility. There will always need to be progress on accessibility and usability. That's just the way the world is. But to move just because of one person and cutoff teaching accessibility to a wider audience, makes no sense. It's like cutting off your arm despite your face. I have nothing against Mastodon competition is key in every market. However, moving on to an island where few less people are is a bad strategy. Mastodon will become like Twitter it's social media. You get out of it what and whom you follow If you follow garbage then you'll get garbage. Don't want to see garbage then change whom you follow simple.

God Bless,

I mentioned this in a text thread, and will put my opinion here. It’s not going to have any hate speech, but if I’m removed, that’s OK as well. I think this is completely political. As when I look at the messaging in detail that Jane sent, they mentioned having an Instagram. Really? A platform dedicated to pictures that probably don’t mainly do any sort of tagging. It makes no sense to me. If Twitter, all the sudden was inaccessible then I can maybe see the stance. However, that being said, third-party apps were taking advertising dollars away from Twitter, which if someone did the same thing to the national Federation for the blind I’m sure they would have a problem with.

The accessibility team was fired over a year ago, but why did it take so long? It seem like they were pressured from one person Jonathan Mosen. He recently did a podcast calling out blind organizations for not joining his feathered universe lol whatever that means! I don’t know why they couldn’t just have all of the social media places? If you’re going to have an Instagram and yes I do know they have an accessibility team but what good is it? Does someone blind feel any better on Instagram? No lol!

Furthermore, the trend is going to be that these third-party apps do not exist because as I mentioned earlier, they’re taking away money from the main project. Another company Reddit is going through the same transformation. If we don’t have advocacy and getting in and showing why things need to be accessible rather than tucking her tail in and running away leaves a bad president. I’m honestly really offended at how the Nfb handled this and it annoys me as rather than face the issue we have just left the platform for the most part. Even their wording is sort of weird here as they’re going to keep it open, but not publicize it! I think I’m done ranting it’s just highly annoying how this was all handled and all of the sudden. It definitely feels political until someone proves me wrong. That’s how I’m going to feel about it!

Apart from access issues Twitter is no longer doing an adequate job creating a safe space as they also dismantled their human rights team and others in the infrastructure that monitor bullying. Incidents of those with disabilities being bullied have risen substantially. Including comments by Musk himself.
