Friday morning we will convene for our 12th annual technology symposium hosted by our technology assistance division. During this event we will focus on all things technology related. At the conclusion of the symposium our Technology Assistance Division will hold its annual business meeting and election of officers. Following the Technology Symposium the rejuvenated Sports and Recreation Group is planning fun and interactive activities for you. Later in the evening, all Parents and children are invited to attend the fun filled pizza and pool party hosted by the Blind Parents & Parents of Blind Children group.
Our resolutions committee will meet to finalize the resolutions that will be voted on by the assembled convention during general session. Friday night will finish off with a social event sure to entertain individuals of all ages!
Our General sessions will be called to order on Saturday morning with a brief introduction by our National Representative and we will hear personal stories from people who have unique experiences befitting the theme of this year’s convention “Going for the Gold: Building your tool kit to live the life you want”. During the afternoon session we will hear reports from our affiliate president and national representative as well as other speakers and blindness related topics.
Please plan to join us for the highlight of our convention, the annual banquet on Saturday evening where we will hear an inspiring address from our national representative, Marilyn Green, president of the National Federation of the Blind of Illinois and the newly elected secretary of the National Federation of the Blind. In addition, we will celebrate individuals in our affiliate with awards and scholarships.
