To Our Valued TARC3 Customer,

We have a very important project currently underway, TARC 2025. Our paratransit service could be affected, please see below to learn more and provide your feedback.

TARC 2025: Moving Forward Together, is a network redesign project that will work directly with the community to update TARC’s transit network to better meet the region’s needs and priorities within the reality of the funding TARC expects to receive over the next 5 – 10 years. Public input will drive this project — this is your plan! TARC3 customers must play a key role in developing strategies for restructuring our network and services, and helping us make decisions about next steps.

In brief, there are three concepts that address the up to $30 million deficit TARC is facing:

*	The Ridership Concept prioritizes going where the greatest number of TARC riders are so we can still provide frequent service in our core areas—even if that means cutting service in areas where there is very low ridership today.
*	The Coverage Concept prioritizes maintaining existing coverage – even if it means we have to spread service so thin that it doesn’t come very often.
*	The Growth Concept shows what TARC could be if we receive additional operating revenue, and basically combines the Ridership and Coverage concepts into one. It has the benefit of a high frequency core service where the majority of transit riders are, and no one is cut off.

These are just concepts so it’s too early to tell what effects there would be on paratransit. Any changes would be addressed in the actual draft plan, expected in January 2025. But since the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) mandates that TARC provide paratransit service for individuals who have a disability that precludes them from riding the fixed-route and are within ¾ of a mile of a fixed- route line, any changes to where TARC lines operate could affect paratransit availability.

Your voice will be an important part of this process so we hope that you can take our project survey to let us know what you think. If you would like to discuss these concepts in greater detail, you’re invited to come to any of our open-house events to give your feedback and discuss this project. Those details are below.
