Subject: The KTBL Resource Fair is almost here!
It's almost time for the Kentucky Talking Book Library Resource Fair program
on May 15th in Louisville! Please share the attached flyer or the
descriptive information below with your user groups and community contacts.
We appreciate your support with getting the word out about this event.
KTBL is the accessible library for Kentucky, offering free books in braille
and audio formats. This includes twin vision print/braille picture books for
youth, press braille, digital braille files for download, audiobooks on
cartridges delivered through the mail and audiobooks for download to
personal devices like smartphones or tablets. On May 15th from 1:00-4:00 the
staff of KTBL will be at the McDowell Center in Louisville to meet current
and potential patrons, offer in-person assistance with BARD, register
patrons for service, demonstrate the new DA2 player, launch our summer
reading program, and share information from our community partners. This
will be a drop-in program, and we expect attendees to stay about an hour.
During the program, the Charles W. McDowell Center will offer tours of their
facility. Partner tables will include Braille Tales, a partnership between
APH and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to offer accessible titles to
young children; NFB Newsline, Central KY Radio Eye, The Kentucky Lions Eye
Foundation, and the Kentucky Council for the Blind Tri-State Library Users.
