TARC has added information about their JCPS plan. This builds off of the Enhanced Plan and would provide service to all JCPS high schools at start and dismissal times. It's not a perfect plan, but it would provide access to more areas of Jefferson County for at least part of the day. In the larger Draft Plan document they've even included which schools would need infrastructure improvements nearby to have safe stops and how many students could access jobs after school. The research they've done for this collaboration, coupled with our current bussing situation with JCPS makes me very interested in this plan. </div><div><br></div><div>An additional note about the Growth Plan- in the Draft Plan it says that this would likely be implemented in four phases instead of all at once. They would need time to buy more buses, modify/build a place to store the new buses, hire and train new staff, and install new stops. So if you're someone that would need the Growth Plan in order to have service I would urge you to try and find out what phase of the plan you would be part of. </div><div><br></div><div>If you are a fixed route rider, please remember that there's a chance the location of the bus stops you use could change. Specific stops aren't listed in these plans, but it's assumed that the routes that run every 15 minutes will stop every 2-3 blocks (about 1/4 of a mile) to save time. </div><div><br></div><div>There is once again a survey for TARC to get community feedback. It also includes questions about TARC3 this time. Lonnie has been kind enough to test it for us and it is accessible with VoiceOver, but if you're still struggling with it we're going to be announcing some times that a couple of us will be available by phone to help you fill it out. The survey is due by April 30th. I'm going to be filling mine out after our meeting with TARC to ensure that I have the most up to date information available. I hope everyone fills it out again this time and please encourage your family and friends to as well! The numbers are different from what we're used to, the routes seem like they're longer, and they're just all around different from what most of us have known for years. If you're still struggling, calling TARC directly is a fantastic option, but if that doesn't work for you, for whatever reason, there's a couple of us that might be able to look at the map and answer your question.
