A more specific starting time will be provided to volunteers closer to the event.<br><br>Location: The parade will begin at St. Mark\u2019s Episcopal Church and end at Frankfort Avenue and Pope Street. The route is roughly 1.6 miles long. Participants will need to be able to independently walk the entire route. This could include changes in pace, unexpected starts and stops, and other obstacles along the route. Strong O&M skills are going to be a must! We would also prefer all participants to use a cane or guide dog while walking.<br><br>Weather: While we certainly hope for a beautiful 65-degree day, we all know that April in Louisville is unpredictable. It could snow, it could rain, or it could be 85 degrees. If you volunteer, you should be comfortable walking in all types of weather.<br><br>Other things to consider: The parade is a wonderful, eclectic representation of the community. There\u2019s music, classic cars that honk or sometimes backfire, various performers, and very excited kids lining the parade route. It\u2019s super fun, but it can also get pretty loud at times, so please take that into consideration.<br><br>If this sounds like a good fit for you, we would love to have you join us! Please send me an email at <a href="mailto:Katie.adkins@nfbky.org">Katie.adkins@nfbky.org</a> including your contact information and shirt size by Sunday, March 15 at 10 p.m. NFBGL will attempt to purchase T-shirts for all parade participants, but due to the tight timeframe there are no guarantees.
