Kentucky Association of Blind Athletes



Yoga Classes

Saturday, May 8th, 15th & 22nd



A series of exploratory yoga classes will be offered for adults.   You may
come to any or all of the classes to try them out and see where you can best
begin your yoga journey. These three classes will cost $10 for blind and
visually impaired participants or $20 for their normally sighted family
members and friends. You will also need to pay KABA member dues which are
$10.



11:00   Level I

This level is appropriate for those who are generally physically inactive
and/or for those who may have physical limitations or health concerns.

This class will focus on relaxation techniques, breathing, restorative yoga,
gentle stretching and guided meditation techniques.  Participants will work
on the floor, both lying down and seated and sitting in chairs.

No prior experience is necessary.



12:00    Level  2

This class is appropriate for those who are moderately active and who have
little or no prior experience in yoga.  The class will include basic
standing and seated yoga postures, as well as basic breathing and relaxation
techniques.

No prior experience necessary.



1:00      Level 3

This level is appropriate for those who are more active and/or for those who
have some experience with yoga.  Emphasis will be on yoga technique in
standing and seated postures and will be taught on a more challenging level.
Guided relaxation and breathing will also be included.

Prior experience is not necessary, but class will be taught at a more
challenging level.
