Hi everyone. We've been encouraging our students to try and use Dropbox to
do things like send files to instructors and keep back-ups of their
homework. Today Dropbox has released a new design for their Windows and Mac
applications that offers some wonderful new features. Unfortunately, the
program no longer works with screenreaders. I've tested it with both JAWS
and NVDA. If you are offered the chance to update your Dropbox software, do
not do it. You can still access your files and folders, but you can't access
the context menu or do things like sharing links to files and inviting
people to folders. Unless you like the bleeding edge and want to see it for
yourself, please stay with your current version of Dropbox. If you have
installed it already without knowing what would happen, I'm working on
getting an installer for the older version that still works. You'll have to
remove the new one and install the old one.
